Bay Island Pets (https://bayislandpets.com) is operated by Utila Labs. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Questions go through our contact form.

What we collect

If you ask for the checklist

We store the email address you give us, the date you gave it, the wording of the consent you agreed to, and which site and form it came from. We use it to send you the checklist and occasional pet-travel updates about the Bay Islands. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we will remove you.

If you use the contact form

We store your name, email address and message so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation. Messages are read by the operator of this site and are not used for marketing.

When you just read the site

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It sets cookies and records a truncated IP address, the pages you view, and general information about your device and where you arrived from. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Cookies and consent

If you are in the UK, EEA or Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage are switched off by default when you arrive, and stay off unless you consent through the consent banner. Elsewhere they are on by default, as described here. You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings; nothing on this site stops working if you do.

Advertising

This site may display advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Where it does:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info.
• Google's own handling of your data is covered by the Google privacy & terms site.

Who processes your data

• Supabase — stores subscriber records and contact messages.
• Vercel — hosts this site and serves its pages.
• Google Analytics — traffic measurement.
• Google AdSense — advertising, where displayed.
• An email delivery provider, used solely to send the checklist and list emails.

How long we keep things

Subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Contact messages are kept while they are useful for reference and deleted when they are not. Analytics data follows Google's retention settings.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Ask through the contact form and we will action it. If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Children

This site is intended for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
